ooooooooo This book was nice. I know it's kinda cliche but i love when just everything turns to shit in such a climatic way. Its a fun read. It reminded me of echo in a vague way, but i think echo's characters were more strong. they had more to grapple onto. buuuuuuut in saying that even though I didnt really know much about the characters they were all kinda charming. (except for phil. bro was just a plot device) I especially loved the professor. she was auraful.
This book was nice, it gives you alot to chew on. I really like how it dosent shy away from the perspective of the MC. She feels fleshed out. Well rounded. I think the only critisism that i would have for this book is the fact that i found the dialogue kinda stilted. stilted in the way that anime dubs are stilted. I dont really think its the fault of the book itself, and i dont think its the fault of the translators aswell. I think theres alot of eccentricities of diffrent languages that gets lost when trying to tranlate shit. IDK... maybe i shouldve learned japanese in preparation for this book haha.
I only knew this book as "the one that people were raving about bc the concept was so scary look at the block ppl" I was expecting this book to be like an actual story but its just a encyclopedia of what the qu did with humans, and i cant help but be disappointed with that. but that isnt the fault of the book itself, on its own merits is pretty alright. If you're looking for body HORROR then you might wanna look elsewhere because The All Tommorows is actually pretty hopeful. The humans that get turned into bricks get a pretty good ending all things considered. Its a good read if you like pure worldbuilding. Edit: i have thought about it more, and i think its kinda funny how people are just larping this book on social media.
I initially found this book by recommendation for "if you wanted to read something disturbing" by some1 on twitter. I was expecting this to be some pussy shit bc twitter people are babies but yeah this has some kick to it. I think the majority of them are ok, most of them are intentionally offputting in a more sexual way and i think that first one about that elf guy genuinely surprised me the first time i read it. It was a great introduction piece and kinda sets the vibe perfectly. other than that I liked the one where that grandma and grandson search for their great aunt to fix his dick. This was a good short read if youre into shock value bullshit. It'll take you less than 10 min to go though all of it.
