So im going to write a preface of some sorts. This game even though it was only in my life for about... 2 years means alot to me. It was one of the first games that I really REALLY enjoyed and I even made friends in it. Anyways I digress. My first LBP game that I got into was the second one, and this was about... 2011, 2012, 2013? So just to be clear everything thats going to be addressed in this shrine is from that period and MAYBE ill do a little big planet 3 section because i bought that game when it came out but i didnt really play it that much. Everything LBP related from 2014 onward is very foreign to me so dont ask me for my input. Anyways what inspired this shrine was the news that the ps3 little big planet servers were shutting down. Apparently this was very abrupt so alot of things that couldve been archived if they had the warning beforehand have been lost. I mean, the servers shutting down was inevitable, everything comes to an end but its still sad yannow? and the way that they just unceremoniously pulled the plug was a pretty dick move. Anyways preamble over. What is little big planet?
Little big planet is a game series that was originally created by the studio Media Molecule who made the first two games while the third installment was created by Sumo Digital. It's a platform game where the main character of the franchise is called sackboy, a doll thingy that can walk, jump, grab stuff, and slap other sackboys, sackgirls, or sackTHEYS. This is what the default sackboy looks like:
What a cutie patootie :3 Anyways
LBP is mostly comprised of 3 things: The storymode, The community levels and the place where you create your own levels (which is called your moon ingame). I'm going to be going though mostly the storymode and the community levels - specifically the things that I can remember and the things that I can find on youtube. Although the official game is (at this point) pretty dead you can still play LBP 1 and 2! Even if you dont have a ps3! PS3 emulation has come a long way and from what i remember LBP 2 is pretty stable on RPCS3. If you have the time, then i highly suggest playing the games LBP 1 and LBP 2's storymode
