the bottle is now in blender (also I redid the bottle) im hoping that it prints okay and i can get the supports out of the inside. Also hope that the screw on top actually works. I borrowed a coin tube STL off of a website and kinda intergrated the lid to my bottle. Hoping that it works becasue i made the screw size considerabley smaller.
Ive been making another ripoff pierre bex bottle, inspired by this one. Im doing masking and layering the design for a more uniform looking thing. This is the first one that i did:
It was alright but It was kinda pixelated if you zoom in so i decided to make another one with way more faces to add more resolution. I dont know if this kinda resolution dosent matter when printing but ill pri
nt both of them and see if the pixelated-ness shows up. If it dosent then i'll use the low res one i guess
Heres the high resolution one:
I call this one big boy becasue it has 4 million faces and blender/cura takes its sweet ass time loading it in.
Started my first 3d print
I thought that the middle bottle was going to fail while the left side ones were gonna be successful. The opposite happened, the detail on the pear ones were barely noticeable and their wasn’t enough supports on the bottom so it started shacking at the last hour or so. It’s so over…. U-U. I’m still at the library it hasn’t stopped printing so idk what the screw on top is gonna be like so here’s hoping for the middle one to be alright.
The chatelaine thing is going nicely it’s finished rn becuase it’s flat. I think it might be too small for the eye that I have back home but I won’t know until I come back home.
It’s smaller than I thought it would be. It’s funny things are bigger in programs than they are on real life I guess. Anyways that’s all.
I’m at home the lid didn’t work - not really that surprising, I think there might’ve been a chance that it would’ve worked but the supports got in the way…
So I think what I need to do is make the pear bottle design more thick so it appears on the bottle and maybe find a better way to make a lid? I’m thinking of a flip lid instead of a screw on lid… I need to do more research.
Also position the bottle so the supports don’t get in the way like it did this time, also update cura on my computer
the eye thing also fits but just barely, I think I’m gonna make it bigger by a little bit.
Update on 3d printing perfume bottle
I have not abandoned it altogether, but i have been thinking about what I wanna do with it from now on. Ive bought some glass pendant vials and I'm thinking of making some 3d printed cages for them so you can see the liquids in em. I havent really done any 3d modeling on that shit though
